How do I become a volunteer?
Do you love the place where you live? if so, why not help visitors love it too! If you love Kent and the Isle of Thanet in particular and you enjoy meeting people from around the world we may have just the opportunity you have been looking for. Why not join the Thanet Greeters and share your enthusiasm with visitors to this wonderful part of England and help make their stay all the more memorable.
- Visitors can ask to see specific sights etc. or can opt to leave the Greeter to decide on the contents of the meeting.
- The Greeter takes the visitor on an unscripted journey through an area the Greeter knows well.
- Greeters are encouraged to share personal stories and favourite locations.
- Your knowlege of out of the way places and unusual stories and facts in a plus.
- Knowlege of foreign languages is very helpful.
- If you prefer there are a number of volunteer "behind the scenes" administrative jobs.
